Ready Quick Mix PDF

Got this link from one of the members of the Preparedness 101 Meetup group here in AZ.  If you live in the Phoenix valley area, this is a great group to join.  They have twice monthly meetings and give out really good prepping info. National Preparedness Month Checklist

September is National Preparedness Month! As preppers, this is the month that we can claim as our own; Yay! What does that mean for us preppers? As I think that preppers are some of the smartest bears in the forest, we should use this month to help educate others on the importance of being prepared. How Long Do You Freeze Food?

To be honest, while I don’t have a definitive answer to that question, I can tell you from experience that it’s at least 7 years! We have two deep freezers and try to keep them stocked with the foods that we eat on a daily basis. We’ve tried freezing nearly everything: meat, milk, cheese, bread, veggies, etc. Not everything we’ve tried freezing was successful, but it’s actually surprising how long food can be preserved by freezing. Date Your Consumables

When making your preparedness plan, if you don’t know how long something will last, it’s difficult to know how much to store. What I’ve found that works well for me is to take a marker and write the date on the package when I open it. Then, when that item is used up, I can look at the date and know how long it lasted me.  I write these durations in a log and refer to it when I’m trying to plan on how much to store for a certain period of time.
