  12. Why shield the radio if it stops working when you shield it? It becomes dead weight. You only need a radio to listen to something all the time. And if it doesn’t work when you protect it then you don’t need it.

    • Not everywhere in the world will be effected by the EMP or CME. It is extremely likely there will be radio stations you’ll be able to pick up, particularly in the AM band. During a global calamity, such as this, it’s likely those stations still working and known to get into the affected area will be transmitting information.
