You’ve heard me mention is a few times on the podcast, that I’m a member of the Preparedness 101 Meetup group. I’m a founding member, in that I was there from the first meeting, and have even given some classes to the group. I’ve also talked about using Meetup.com to find preppers in your area or to start your own group to reach out to local preppers, but still maintain good anonymity.
In this podcast, I interview Fred Henss, one of the principle organizers of the Preparedness 101 Meetup group. This is an introductory interview, in which Fred talks about the group, why he decided to organize it, and about the group itself.
The idea is to do a regular podcast with Fred and go over much of the information that he covers in the meetings. This will accomplish several things: 1) provide the podcast listeners with a series of podcasts that they can share with beginner preppers (along with my Back to Basics series), and 2) give new members of the Prep 101 group a place to go to catch up on meetings that they’ve missed, and 3) provide a basic framework with which others can create a preparedness-based Meetup group in their area.
