Episode 123 – Back To Basics – Commonly Overlooked Preparedness Tasks

In this episode, we continue our Back to Basics series by covering two lists which identify the common and mundane things that we do everyday, which we would still need to do in an disaster or emergency scenario, but may have overlooked when creating your preparedness plan. These lists are the Common Daily Tasks and the Common Survival Tasks.

These lists are stepping stones to how I created the Preparedness Capability Checklist and and are a great resource for going over your preparedness plan and checking to see that you have the basics covered and what your solution is for these issues.

One thing that I talked about in this episode was two of my friends have had their personal bank accounts shut down by the IRS for no reason, other than they were on a payment plan. This is anecdotal, but I thought I would mention it so that if you owe money to the IRS, you’re forewarned on the possibility of having your account frozen. At this time, I have no more information on this, because my friends are still in the dark as to why and things are still pending.

Thank you! I felt pretty well prepared, but the basics podcast reminded me I need more soap and plastic bags! I am forwarding a link to your site to several in my community who are like minded.
