Hey folks, if you haven’t heard about this already, there is a USDA food recall for dried eggs and any foods made from those dried eggs due to a possible Salmonella contamination.

This is a Class I recall, which means “there is a reasonable probability that the use of the product will cause serious, adverse health consequences or death.”

Not all food storage companies are affected, but those that are include:

  • Wise Foods
  • eFoods
  • OvaEasy

I’ve confirmed that Legacy Foods, PrepareWise and Buy Emergency Foods are not affected by this recall, as are any other companies not included in the recall.

Most of the contaminated products affect OvaEasy, but be sure to check on this webpage:

Washington Firm Recalls Dried Egg Products Due to Possible Salmonella Contamination

They have updated this release, at least, once, so be sure to check on it occasionally for any further updates.

I just checked both the Wise Foods and eFoods websites and found no mention of the recall. I find this a little disturbing, as good customer relations would dictate, at least, some notice of the recall on their websites. Hopefully, they’re contacting their customers that have bought these food products.
