Arm Thyself

Yesterday, there was a protest in downtown Chicago. Seems to have gone rather peacefully, so many of you probably didn’t hear anything about it. If you watch the news reports closely, you’ll find protests are more common than you might think. For every “big” protest that becomes violent, there are many smaller ones with the same potential. It doesn’t matter whether you agree/support their cause or not, being in or around a protest can be very dangerous. I cringe at those fools who bring their children to such an event; talk about child-endangerment. On one side of the spectrum, you … Continue reading

Prepper News Watch for August 19, 2014

As you have, no doubt, noticed, the situation in Ferguson is being fanned by the media, anarchists, criminals, and racists. Don’t be fooled, this is not a protest. It’s a cover for rampant violence from a segment of society whom believes they are entitled. Entitled to what? Apparently, anything they want. This is not a peaceful protest, as you may have been led to believe. These “peaceful” protestors are shooting at the cops, burning buildings, and looting, all in the name of “Give us Justice!” The Police Chief is trying everything he can think of to quell the violence: More … Continue reading

Al-Qaeda Calls for Car Bomb Attacks on American Cities, Targets Abroad

Al-Qaeda Calls for Car Bomb Attacks on American Cities, Targets Abroad: The latest issue of Al-Qaeda’s Inspire magazine contains an article about using car bombs in U.S. cities as well as abroad during election seasons, both presidential and congressional, as well as on Christmas and New Years Eve. The cities and areas listed in the piece include Washington, D.C., New York, Northern Virginia, Chicago, and Los Angeles. America is our first target, followed by United Kingdom, France and other crusader countries. As for the field target for the car-bomb, you have places flooded with individuals, e.g. sports events in which tens of thousands … Continue reading

FREE Radioactive Hot Particle Testing of Auto and Home Air Filters

During my interview with Steve Aukstakalnis of AlertsUSA Inc., we forgot to mention this great service that he sponsors: With the ongoing Fukushima disaster in Japan, failing waste storage tanks at Hanford, and faltering nuclear power facilities across the country, the recent release of radioactive materials into the air at the DOE Waste Isolation Pilot Plant near Carlsbad, NM is again heightening concerns about possible health risks to the general public, and rightfully so. Are there radioactive ‘hot particles’ floating around in the air in your local area that could be breathed in? What about inside of your home? The … Continue reading

The 4 Gun Rules That You Need To Know

These rules exist for a reason, make sure you learn them implicitly. Ingrain these rules into your psyche and muscle memory. Train everyone you teach to shoot these rules. ALWAYS treat every weapon as if it is loaded NEVER put your finger on the trigger until you are ready to fire NEVER point the weapon at anything that you don’t intend to DESTROY or KILL ALWAYS be sure of your target and what lies beyond it All gun accidents, especially those that injure or kill, break one of these rules. I have never known of an “accidental” gun discharge that … Continue reading

Recommended Reading: Alternating ammo in your magazine

Published on The Bang Switch // visit site One of the most common comments I’ve seen on my ballistic test videos relate to “stacking” magazines with alternating rounds. I also see this being discussed and even recommended on many of the more popular discussion boards. The theory is that if you put a ball round in in your magazine, then a hollow point, then another ball round, you’re bettering your odds of having the perfect bullet at the right moment to stop the bad guy regardless of what the circumstances might be. I’ve seen some folks go so far as … Continue reading

Recommended Reading: Survival reloading with the Lee Loader

Published on // visit site For those that are just getting started with reloading, a “round” of ammunition is composed of the case, typically called “brass” and usually made of reloadable brass, an appropriately sized and powered replaceable centerfire primer, the powder, and the bullet. The whole process of a detonating round is simple; the hammer in the gun hits the firing pin, which hits the primer which detonates a small explosion which ignites the powder. In turn the burning of the powder builds pressure inside the round in the chamber and pushes the bullet down the barrel. Technically … Continue reading

What To Do If Caught in a Protest or Riot

Not all protests and riots are for noble causes, they also occur over sports outcomes (soccer, football) and are known to pop up around collage campuses for one reason or another. Some reasons for civil unrest include: religious differences, economic stress, price increases, racial issues (white cop shoots black person, etc.), jury verdicts, Not all are violent, but any protest can turn violent, even if it starts out out small. Mob psychology on how people behave in a mass uprising is a field of study in itself, but one way to look at them is to take the average IQ … Continue reading

Recent Urban Tensions

Some thoughts on the recent urban tensions that we’ve been experiencing lately. There are many ugly realities that we need to face in order to talk about this. Urban tensions: What is urban tension? In short, this is just another term for racial tensions. I had thought that when we elected a black president, it would have become obvious that the amount of racism in this country has dropped to an all-time low and that it’s really not an issue anymore. Wrong. Much of it is driven by the poor economy. If people were making a good living and there … Continue reading

Published on Handguns // visit site Gaston Glock never intended to create “perfection”. Instead, the curtain-rod engineer with a background in synthetic polymers wanted to design a sidearm to meet strict criteria desired by the Austrian military for its next service pistol. Glock’s first firearm design was also his 17th patent—the now famous 9x19mm Glock 17—which won the Austrian contract in 1982 and soon became the most commonly used handgun in the world. In fact, the Glock 17 remains a standard-issued sidearm of NATO. Millions of people trust their lives to the reliability of Glock pistols, but popularity and perfection … Continue reading
